Fables

01.Beauty

In a valley hidden behind a curtain of falling stars lived a divine Beauty, guardian of the magical Moon Jasmine. She was born with wings of silver mist and a heart so pure that she remained untouched by the many who sought to win her through seduction or gold.

One day, the maiden found a man in the forest, fleeing from the jaws of a wild beast. He had come seeking herbs for his dying mother. She saved his life, and in the quiet of the garden, they fell in love. But their happiness was short-lived, for the man’s mother grew worse, and only the Moon Jasmine could cure her. Without hesitation, the beauty pressed her wings of silver mist into the earth to make the plant bloom. Her wings vanished forever. She gave the man the elixir, and he promised to return to her as soon as his mother was healed.

Yet, as the wings faded, so did the maiden’s splendour. Her skin withered and her hair greyed. When the man finally returned, he looked upon her with cold eyes. His affection had been a mirror for her beauty rather than a devotion to her soul, so he turned away and left the valley forever.

In her grief, the maiden wept upon the roots of the Moon Jasmine. The plant erupted into a final, brilliant bloom, restoring her magical wings. She remained the guardian of the valley, a “Beauty” whose true radiance could only be seen by those who did not look with their eyes.

02.Princess

In a secluded village, a girl was born with a terrible gift: any man who met her eyes would instantly turn to ash. Fearing for her life, her mother hid her away and raised her in darkness, teaching her that kindness was the only light she needed. Years later, raiders attacked their home. With no other hope, the mother brought her daughter out, and the invaders crumbled into dust. The village was saved and the girl was declared Princess.

Under her protection, the village grew into a great city that no enemy dared approach. Far away, a Prince heard of her power and raised an army of women, believing only they could withstand her gaze. He intended to invade and slay the ”Ash Princess”. Yet, when he arrived, he found her walking blindfolded among her people, choosing darkness so that she might never cause them harm.

He fell in love with her spirit without ever seeing her face, and from that day, he vowed to protect her kingdom with his own life. He remained by her side with only one final wish: that one day she might truly look into his eyes. He knew the cost, but for her, he would have gladly turned to ash.

03.Warrior

In a distant land, a Warrior whose blade was unmatched and whose record was undefeated, decided to leave the path of war. He yearned for the peace of the earth, wishing only to till the soil and nurture his beloved family as a simple farmer. But his enemies, unable to defeat him in battle, learned of his newfound dreams.

They hatched a sinister plot to kidnap his family and use them to bend his iron will to their own. The warrior, learning of their scheme, was faced with a choice that would echo through history. In the dark of night, he sacrificed his own family rather than let them become pawns for his enemies.

This chilling act sent a message of terror across the land, and his adversaries fled, fearing a man who would destroy his own heart to remain undefeated. The warrior embarked on a new journey of conquest, but a dark rumor followed his rise. The world was left to wonder if the warrior had planned it all from the start, using his own flesh and blood as the ultimate sacrifice to fuel his ascent to absolute power.

04.King

In a kingdom ruled by a mighty and invincible King, peace reigned for many years. The King’s heart was eventually won by a young beauty, and they were wed in a celebration that lasted forty nights. Intrigued by the legend of his strength and his many victories in battle, the new Queen grew curious about his immortality.

One evening, proving his devotion to her, the King revealed his greatest secret. His only weakness was a little parrot, as his soul was hidden in it. Overcome by jealousy of the bird that held the power over her husband’s life, the Queen sought it out and killed it. In an instant, the King’s invincibility vanished.

In the end, it was not the sword of an enemy or the betrayal of a rival that brought him down; it was love. He had loved the Queen enough to share the one secret that could destroy him.

05.Lion

In the heart of the golden savannah, the Lion, once the proudest of all beasts, felt the heavy shadow of time bearing down upon him. The fear of old age and the silence of death gnawed at his soul, driving him to seek a way to outrun the inevitable. In his darkest hour, he made a pact with a malevolent spirit, trading his bravery and his strength for immortality.

The deal was struck, and the Lion was reborn with a mane as bright as the sun and a body untouched by the years. But as time passed, the Lion realized the hollow nature of his bargain. Stripped of his courage, he became a mere shadow of the king he once was, unable to protect his pride or inspire the loyalty of his subjects.

Though he possessed an eternal life, it was a life devoid of honour or purpose - a fate worse than death. And so, the Lion wandered the earth as a cautionary tale, a reminder of the dangers of trading one's soul for the illusion of eternal youth. In the end, it was not old age that consumed him, but the loss of his true strength that had once made him a king.
